- We will not play “failure to advance” or offensive advance — the 10-second rules.
- Teams will have time to clear the defensive zone and advance past midfield into the offensive “box”.
- Obvious stalling tactics can be called by the officials after warning and at his or her discretion.
- Delay of game penalties can be called if a player or players do not get back into position quickly after a score.
- If a team leads by four or more goals, the losing team may opt for possession in lieu of a face-off.
- Each game will consist of two running clocks halves of 20 minutes.
- No overtime.
- Any player, fan or coach ejected from a game will be prohibited from competing in or observing his/her team’s next game (at a minimum).
- Penalty time begins when play resumes after the call (whistle to resume play).
- U10 and 3/4 Division players committing a penalty must serve the appropriate time in the box but their team will not play man down (i.e., penalties will not create uneven situations).
- 30-second penalties will serve 1 minute.
- 1 minute penalties will serve 90 seconds.
- 3 minute penalties (illegal equipment/other) will serve 4 minutes.
- Penalty clock will begin once play is resumed as signaled by an official whistle.
- A substitution horn may be called for sideline out of bounds except during the last five minutes of each half, when all substitutions must be completed on the fly.
- Officials will whistle the resumption of play no longer than 15 seconds after a substitution request.
- Players may not “play down” and participate in younger age or grade divisions.
- Each team is allowed one thirty second time out in each half (no carryover if time out is unused in the first half).
- If a team does not return promptly from a time-out it will either lose possession of the ball or be assessed a delay of game penalty.
- The game clock will continue to run during the time out.
- No timeouts in the last five minutes of play.
- Decisions on the field will be the final ruling.
- No disputes will be heard after the game.
- No stick checks unless requested by the opposing coach.
- If stick is found to be legal, challenging team will be charged a timeout.
- If no timeouts remain, delay of game technical foul will be assessed.
- If the stick is not legal, the appropriate penalty will be assessed.
- Given short changeover times each field should be cleared as soon as possible at the end of each game.
- Please clean up your bench area of equipment, bottles and trash before leaving the area.
- There will be a common horn to signify the start and end of each game.
- Published schedule is final as far as times and fields are concerned.
- Team in lead must keep the ball in the box for the last two minutes of the game.
- Teams will shake hands after the game but not line up together before the game.
- Abusive or unsportsmanlike behavior on the part of any player, coach, parent, or fan can result in expulsion from the event by a referee and/or the event organizers.
- Event organizers retain the right to make any changes for the betterment of the Lax Jam.
- 7 v 7 offside if greater than 4 on offense, or greater than 5 on defense (including goalie).
- The face off is 1 v 1 and the rest of the players are on the Goal Line extended.
- We will use 4’ x 4’ goals.
- We will use the standard “hard” lacrosse balls, not soft balls or tennis balls.
- Coaches from each team will referee the games.
- We will play 6 v 6 with no goalies.
